In recent years, snowboarding has become a popular sport at Whistler
Blackcomb. The sport originated from surfing and skateboarding and
became an official Olympic sport in 1998. Snow boards are built from a
combination of hardwood and fibreglass. Boards range in length from 90
to 215 centimetres.
